Coleman was born in Blackpool Lancashire. She was a student at the Arnold School in Blackpool where she was the head girl. She also received straight A's on her A-levels. Speaking about her Emmerdale character, Coleman revealed that she regrets not having a conventional college experience. Coleman joined a theater company, In Yer Space while in school. She was a part of the group in the Edinburgh Festival for the play Crystal Clear. The production also received an enthusiastic response. The show was praised with a prestigious award for her performance. Coleman got the part as Jasmine Thomas while she was performing at drama school. This happened in 2005. Coleman was nominated twice in the year 2007. At the British Soap Awards she was nominated as Best Newcomer and during the National Television Awards she was named the Most Popular Newcomer. The award was presented to her in the categories of Best Actress, Sexiest Woman and the best dramatic performance on the British Soap Awards 2009. Coleman was also nominated as Best Actress at the TV Choice Awards. Steven Moffat announced at a Doctor Who press conference on 21 March that Coleman has replaced Karen Gillan as the companion of the Doctor when Arthur Darvill left the series and was to play the role with Matt Smith. Moffat has chosen her for the role as she was most successful with Smith and spoke faster than him. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. She's been involved in the film industry since 1987. She has had a greater impact in TV-related projects than film. Eva is well-known by her character of Dr. Maria Santos on All My Children and detective Natalia Boa Vistas in CSI Miami. This particular show got her two nominations to a 'Daytime Emmy. Additionally, she was able to express her creative side by performing music. Alongside being an actor, Eva is also a charitable philanthropist, as well as an entrepreneur. She has been married thrice and also has a daughter with her previous husband.
