Niykee keeps writing music despite having been swept up in the recent crisis. Her selection was made to be part of this year's YouTube Brandcast by Snoop and Snoop was on stage with her. Being a magnet for producers, Niykee is constantly looking through the numerous beats being sent to her. The majority of them spark new song ideas. "I'll be able to discern within the first 5 minutes if this is a quality beat. Once I have a tune in my mind I'll begin writing right away." My lyrics come to me whenever I'm outside on the porch, playing my guitar. Most of the time, it's under thirty minutes. Niykee's past pain is a constant source of inspiratation as she progresses as an author. When I'm not writing in a literal way about what has occurred to me, the hurt of growing up and loss of my sister being incorporated into my music she says. My music is inspired by my experiences and I can feel the deeper meaning underneath everything. That's one of the aspects that are most significant for me.
